Joachim Devillé creates drawings and paintings that depict constructed environments based on the low-res quality and the fluidity of online content, more specifically on our experience as a spectator and actor in a digital environment.
In his series Headquarters, he prompts us to think about our relationships to land and the extraction of the world’s natural resources. Derived from online content research, his work reflect on the environment and global systems of production, manufacturing, distribution and consumption.
The drawings and paintings are based on the research about the geographical locations of headquarters of multinational companies with direct or indirect significant impact on global deforestation and the major financial institutions involved.
