Joachim Devillé is a Brussels-based visual artist and musician-performer. Since 2002 he works with three constants throughout his practice; Making music, the visual translation of music and a subjective analysis of our contemporary society.
It is a process in which these three axes slowly meet each other, rubbing, colliding, overlapping. They are, as it were, tectonic plates with their own processes, connections, structures and laws. Joachim Devillé thus balances on the fault lines of figuration and abstraction, time experience and perception, connections and deconstruction.
He explores how to bring these three axes together through juxtaposition, synergy and diametrical dialogues. This results in drawings, paintings, music, performances and interventions.
